Is an enterprise search more intelligent than a web search?

Asked 2 years ago

Hello everyone. So here's a thought that popped up in my mind: which would you say is the more intelligent of the two, enterprise vs. web search?

Although the web search is broader as it deals with internet searches, the enterprise search needs to be more intelligent. The security feature is of top concern as it works in an intranet setup. Not all the data can be made available to users, like web searches. Also, the indexing procedure for enterprise search is smarter as it requires multiple indexing based on the categories. Moreover, the enterprise system deals with more versatile file formats like SQL APIs and traditional text, image, and PDF files.

Undoubtedly, web search uses a broad spectrum and yields results inclusively. But the enterprise still beats it in terms of intelligence.

The intelligent enterprise search supports name search through an integrated advanced name matching solution. It supplies separately searchable entities. You can even search the content of your emails with an enterprise search. Along with that, enterprise search helps find the result no matter the location and format of the result.
