Does running an unindexed search bring results similar or better to an indexed search?

I recently launched my enterprise search tool for my company. I have remote servers in various locations that hold client data. I have yet to have the chance to create indexes on the servers to run indexed searches for high search performance. Will I get comparable or better results if I only use unindexed searches for my business searches?
