Is knowledge management the same as knowledge sharing?
Asked 3 years ago
I’ve recently been promoted to a more senior role so I have been taking time these days to learn more about how I can be more efficient with my work. As I was researching around, I came across the term “knowledge management” and was a little confused. Isn’t knowledge management the same thing as knowledge sharing?

Although related, knowledge management is a broader concept encompassing various activities and strategies beyond just knowledge sharing. Knowledge management includes knowledge creation, organization, storage, and utilization, to effectively manage an organization's knowledge assets and achieve its objectives.
On the contrary, knowledge sharing is a key component of knowledge management, involving disseminating knowledge within an organization. It's primarily aimed at facilitating collaboration, learning, and innovation.
