How do I create an enterprise search?
Asked 8 months ago
Hi everyone, my company has built up a data pool, and I want to increase productivity and make it easier for the employees to access and find information. Do I have to install software to do this or get a developer to build it?

You can create the enterprise search in SharePoint using the Basic or Enterprise search template. The only difference between the two is that the latter allows you to customize the web pages.
To create the search engine, follow these steps:
- Create a new web application.
- Open the Admin site and go to Application Management.
- Use an enterprise search template to create the enterprise search.

Enterprise Search enables you to create apps that transmit the information from one data system into the Interact search index. This way, you can display your documents from external sources in the search results accompanying Interact's search results.
As much as it is beneficial, it is a complex job that requires technical expertise, a conspicuously focused mind, and plenty of time. I suggest you save yourself from this legwork and ask a professional developer to build an enterprise search for you. Consequently, you'll be able to avoid a hectic job, and the task will be completed in a reasonable amount of time for a nominal fee.

The road to creating an ideal enterprise search passes from these three steps:
- Building a search functionality that is reliable enough to run with long-term customer exposure.
- Using a multipurpose indexing framework to integrate the search internally.
- Track the usage and collect information through it for personalized info.
You are all set if you consider yourself capable of following the prescribed roadmap. However, if things don't work out for you, it is better to call a professional developer to save time and effort. Or you can deploy a ready-to-use enterprise search engine, "Unleash." Unleash makes it easier for you to find and access your corporate data from multiple sources in one place.
