Will confluence's exact match search ignore common words in a search?
Asked 3 years ago
I've been looking through my conversations with my team leader regarding a recent project. I've resorted to using an exact match search to get the best results. When I enter a search with "and," it ignores it and does not return relevant results. Should I leave out these stop words?

Yes, Confluence's exact match search will ignore common words in a search. The search wants to give you the most relevant results possible. So you can yield results for exactly what you're looking for as quickly as possible. All the stop words, including the, and, it, etc., are ignored even if they are in quotation marks.
