A federated search engine aggregates results from multiple search engines and databases. It can be helpful when looking for information across the internet.
However, there are some risks to using federated search engines. Because they collect results from multiple sources, federated search engines can be susceptible to hacking.
In addition, the information that you receive from a federated search engine may not be accurate or updated. So, it will not be a good idea to depend on federated search engines for research purposes.
