The hybrid federated search allows you to use Sharepoint and Microsoft 365 indexes. To set up a hybrid federated search in SharePoint, you first need to configure your Microsoft 365 server and for Sharepoint. Also, synchronize the user accounts. Next, configure your SharePoint for Microsoft 365 service. Now configure both servers by authentication to display hybrid federated search results in SharePoint Server.

The hybrid federated search is an optimized system that enables dual access points through the indexes of SharePoint and Microsoft 365. In setting up a hybrid federated search, you need to optimize the servers for both SharePoint and Microsoft 365 to enable it to produce federated search results. There is a need to harmonise the accounts of the user to accumulate a synchronised search. Don't forget to set up your SharePoint to make it perform Microsoft 365 service. After that, do a configuration of the two servers systematically to make the SharePoint server produce a hybrid federated search.
