Does confluence's exact match search ignore special characters?
Asked 3 years ago
I've been using filters to search for information on my team's core project in Confluence, but I'm not getting the results I'm looking for. My team leader suggested using exact match search to get the most accurate results. However, I'm looking for something hyphenated and with forward slashes. I'm still not getting the results I want.

Confluence exact match search is the ideal way to search for similar terms in a snap.
More specifically, it will ignore spaces, caps, and other unprintable characters (like curly brackets). Furthermore, Confluence's exact match search also ignores characters such as commas or hyphens. If you search for ABC-123, you'll be shown the results matching ABC 123.
